Codes and conventions of the action genre

Codes and conventions of action genre:

-generally, The characters in action have particularly large upper body musculature, They also usually have a background in the military or are a ex serviceman, a lot well-known examples of this is Rambo, and die hard, whom the protagonist is a ex-police officer or serving police officer.

the action movies also have a lot of other codes and conventions such as explosions and car chases, and also the hero or the protagonist turns out to have a special rivalry with the main antagonist which causes either the death of the antagonist or him going to jail and being brought to justice.

the action movies also feature the main villain at the start of the movie as being a bit feminine, and inferior to the main villain who appears later in the story, it appears to the target audience or people watching the movie that we could give him a good kick in. even though were not in the film it almost brings us and makes us a part of the movie in itself. The character/protagonist appears to at first be a 'normal guy' but then discovers a hidden power or talent which sets him apart from all the other characters. Humorous dialogue is often used as an attempt to diffuse the situation from being too awkward.

exotic locations and incredibly fast-paced car chases also keeps the audience on their seats and makes them want to find out more about the action-adventure movie.
