action film cliches:
world weary assassins or green berets or -navy seals who like to pull up ine last suicidal mission after which they will retire.it also helps if they are slightly insane.
- eastern European, Russian Serbian sociopaths who like to go on killing sprees.
- femme fatals who usually get killed or become the victim.
- usually action films also have a protagonist who usually has a special power or hidden talent which puts them ahead of everyone else who is considered 'normal'.
action films also tend to sometimes put the main protagonist ahead of the other characters in the show and focus the story on the main protagonist- which makes sense as the story is mainly about him/her thats why he/she is the main protagonist to begin with.
sex is often used many times within actions films also to get the target audience interested and engaged.
sometimes a training montage such as in rocky where the main protagonist is training to overcome the inevitable obstacle which lies ahead (often a fight or battle), after that usually a victory is ensued after the battle/fight and shows the main protagonist as victorious having overcome the obstacles.
stereotypes are often used as well such as dumb blondes or crazy foreigners, violent thugs who are black, rich aristocratic people who might be British for example.
